School Dress Code
Would you let your child go
to a school that permitted students to wear clothing that has offensive language
or clothes that have exposure to too much skin? My guess is no.
This is why many schools have made modifications or adjustments to their
dress code policies. I think that
the best way to monitor what young people wear to school would be to have
students wear uniforms. If schools
required students to wear uniforms it would greatly benefit the classroom
environment.
First off, if children were required to wear uniforms then it would take
less time to get ready in the morning.
What I am trying to say is that since kids would not take a lot of time
to pick out what they are going to wear then the kids would have more time to
get ready for school. For example,
if a student that went to a school that had uniforms then that student would get
dressed quickly and have more time to eat a good breakfast, get ready, make sure
that they have everything that they need for class, and get to school on
time.
Additionally, kids won’t feel pressured to wear the “right” thing since
everyone has to wear the same thing.
By this I mean that because all the students have to wear uniforms kids
won’t be judged by what they wear.
This will cause their confidence to rise and then they will focus more on
school instead of on worrying about their clothing.
For instance, what if a child‘s parents can’t afford to buy them the
clothes that they want. They might
be embarrassed. But if schools
required students to wear uniforms then everybody would have to wear the same
thing and that child won’t feel bad.
Then their confidence will rise and they will start to focus on school
more.
Finally, having uniforms would help families financially.
I mean, clothing can be expensive!
But if parents only had to buy school uniforms instead of designer jeans
then they would save a lot of money.
Families already have a lot to pay for and buy.
To name some items there is food, taxes, bills, and a ton a little things
that are necessary. If schools had
uniforms that would be one thing off the shopping list and people would save
money.
Needless to say, uniforms are a good, positive, change for schools
everywhere. Kids would have no
trouble picking out what to wear in the morning so they would have more time to
make sure that they get to school on time and ready for class.
Also, kids wouldn’t feel judged buy what they wear since everyone would
wear the same thing therefore causing their confidence to rise and also causing
them to be more focused at school.
Last, uniforms would help families save money because uniforms would be
cheaper than other clothes. As you
can see uniforms would be a positive change inside school and outside of
school.
